My New Counters


“This is the long counter that we use most when cooking. There's also a stainless steel table with a large wooden cutting board that we kept at the end of this counter but it isn't showing in the picture. The granite is more than just beautiful looking to us, it's also scratch and burn resistent. When we first put granite in my mother's old kitchen we did a lot of research and found that not only was granite more durable but it was hardly any more expensive than composite/pseudo-granite surfaces. We also found that places like Home Depot and Lowe's charge more for granite so we opted to buy granite from La Pietra (both here and in my mother's home) they deal exclusively in tile, granite, slate etc. I believe we ended up saving money in the long run since the granite adds more resale value to the house.”
